Rae, Malcolm

Malcolm Rae (born 1941, Southport, United Kingdom) works with all paint media and occasionally creates ceramic sculptures, but excels in watercolor.  As a teacher and an artist, traditional watercolor painting technique is an important part of Rae's practice. His paintings illustrate local landscape, flora and fauna and the female figure, but within his established subjects, Rae often finds new possibilities to portray images a lively and refreshing fashion, often with great fantasy of colour.

Rae is a self-taught artist, but attended workshops and courses throughout his career.  He was a participant in Transforming Spaces, The Bahamian annual Art Event, for almost 10 years
and continues to have a strong following and business through his idyllic garden and studio, Stingrae Studios.
